Μέσα στα πλαίσια του ευρωπαϊκού δικτύου για την ηλεκτρονική υγεία, eHealth Network, του οποίου η Κύπρος είναι μέλος, και για συμμόρφωση προς την Οδηγία 2011/24/ΕΕ του Ευρωπαϊκού Κοινοβουλίου και του Συμβουλίου της 9ης Μαρτίου 2011 περί εφαρμογής των δικαιωμάτων των ασθενών στο πλαίσιο της διασυνοριακής υγειονομικής περίθαλψης, αποφασίστηκε, η δημιουργία μιας κοινής πλατφόρμας για ανταλλαγή ιατρικών πληροφοριών των ασθενών μεταξύ των κρατών μελών του δικτύου.
Ο κυρίως στόχος του έργου CEF-CY είναι η δημιουργία πλατφόρμας για ανταλλαγή πληροφοριών του ασθενή διασυνοριακά και συγκεκριμένα του περιληπτικού ιατρικού ιστορικού (Patient summary) και ηλεκτρονικής συνταγογράφησης eP (ePrescription) σε κοινή μορφή και μέσω ενός ασφαλούς δικτύου (TESTA–ng).
According to the Directive 2011/24/EU, Cyprus established the NCP role with all the authority suggested by the cross-border Directive 2011/24/EU. The Cyprus NCPeH will act as the national contact point, adhering to the Directive and ensuring a better and safer cross-border health care. Cyprus is contributing in the deployment of eHealth solutions that are expected to increase safety and quality of care throughout the EU, notably by: providing immediate clinical information needed in an emergency abroad and ensuring continuity of care across EU borders.
The CEF-CY main objective is to support Cyprus efforts to be part of a secure peer-to-peer network allowing the seamless cross-border care and secure access to patient health information between European healthcare systems, particularly with the exchange of Patient Summary and ePrescription.
